Position Overview

Optigy is seeking experienced Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for locum coverage in Thomaston, GA. This role offers flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work in a busy, well-supported emergency department environment. Physicians must be willing to work both day and night shifts and be comfortable in high-volume settings.

Requirements

• Active Georgia medical license and GA DEA in hand

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Family/Internal Medicine (ABFM/ABIM or osteopathic equivalents)

• Residency trained in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• Current certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS

• Clean file required for presentation

• Willing to commit to at least 5 shifts per month

• Capable of working both day and night shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for a diverse patient population

• Collaborate effectively with APPs, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure timely patient flow

• Manage acute and life-threatening conditions in accordance with best practices

• Accurately document patient encounters using Meditech EMR

• Participate in orientation and EMR training as part of onboarding

• Annual ED Volume: ~29,800 visits

• Average Patients per Day: ~82

• Physician Coverage: 24 hours (6a–6p, 6p–6a)

• APP Coverage: 24 hours (9a–9p, 12:30p–12:30a)

• On-call: None

• Trauma Level: Non-Trauma Facility

• Telehealth: No
