Position Overview

Optigy is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Hospitalist for a locum assignment in Bristol, TN. This opportunity is based in a large tertiary care facility with a high-acuity patient population and modern infrastructure. Physicians will join a collaborative hospitalist team providing round-the-clock inpatient coverage with dedicated APP support.

Requirements

• Active Tennessee medical license and TN DEA in hand

• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABFM, ABIM, or AOBIM; ABPS not accepted)

• Completion of an accredited residency program

• Current certifications in ATLS, ACLS, and PALS

• Must be willing to work both day and night shifts

• Clean file required for presentation

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges

• Collaborate with APPs, nursing, and specialty services to ensure optimal care coordination

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and maintain accurate documentation in the EMR

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered hospitalist care consistent with facility and Optigy standards

Position Details

• Start Date: November 3, 2025

• Flexible schedule with minimum 7 shifts per month

• Staffing Model:

  • 4 Day Rounders and 1 Night Rounder (Physicians)

  • 2 Day Rounders (APPs)

• Shift Times: 7a–7p (Day)

• Average Daily Census: 210–230 patients

• Average Length of Stay: 5.07 days

• Case Mix Index: 1.55

• Facility Size: 263 acute care beds, including 37 ICU beds

• Annual Admissions: ~12,000

• On-call: No

• Telehealth: No

• Overtime: Daily after 12 hours; Weekly after 168 hours
