Position Overview

Optigy is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum assignment in Cumming, GA. This is a full-time night shift position (3x12s weekly) in a multi-specialty medical-surgical ICU environment. The provider will work collaboratively with attending physicians to manage critically ill patients and deliver evidence-based, high-quality care.

Requirements

• Acute Care Certified NP or Physician Assistant with valid national and state licensure

• Active Georgia license required

• Minimum of 1–2 years of ICU experience as an APP

• Proficient in ICU procedures, including:

  • Central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)

  • Arterial line insertions

• Must provide case logs of procedures for credentialing

• Local candidates preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting

• Collaborate closely with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams

• Perform and document thorough assessments, procedures, and follow-up notes in Cerner EMR

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate ongoing patient status to care teams

• Interpret diagnostic testing and implement appropriate clinical interventions

Position Details

• Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)

• Workweek: Three 12-hour shifts per week

• APP-to-patient ratio: 10–15 ICU patients per APP (with attending MD support)

• Overtime: Daily after 24 hours; Weekly after 40 hours

• On-call: No

• Telehealth: No
