Pediatric APP – Inpatient Nursery Coverage

Opportunity Overview

An opportunity is available for experienced Pediatric Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to provide inpatient nursery coverage in South Carolina. Providers should be confident caring for premature and critically ill newborns, including infants as young as 32 weeks gestation.

Coverage dates are to be determined, with 2-3 providers needed across available locations.

Position Highlights

• Inpatient coverage in a Level I/II nursery

• Average daily census of 1-2 patients

• Pediatric emergency department consultations as requested

• Care for premature and critically ill newborns

• Circumcision experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

Providers must be comfortable with neonatal resuscitation and managing high-acuity newborns, including performing or managing the following procedures:

• CPAP management

• Peripheral IV placement

• Arterial sticks

• Ventilator management

• Pulmonary surfactant administration

• Umbilical line placement and management

• Catheter placement and management

• Other procedures related to the care of critically ill newborns

Requirements

• Active South Carolina license

• Applicable South Carolina DHEC credentials or registration

• Previous EPIC experience required

• Experience caring for premature and critically ill newborns

• Proficiency in neonatal resuscitation and required neonatal procedures

• Coverage dates are TBD.

• Providers may be considered for coverage at multiple locations within South Carolina.

• Circumcision experience is preferred.
