An excellent opportunity is available for Emergency Medicine Physicians to provide locum tenens coverage at a high-volume regional referral center in the Rio Grande Valley. This opportunity offers a collaborative clinical environment, established specialty support, and a multi-site coverage model across five emergency and hospital locations.

Schedule & Coverage

Available Physician Shifts

• 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

• 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

• 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM

NP/PA Coverage

• 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Clinical Environment

Physicians will practice in a busy emergency department with access to a broad range of specialty services, including:

• Cardiology

• General Surgery

• Neurology

• Neurosurgery

• OB/GYN

• Gastroenterology

EMR: Cerner

Candidate Requirements

Education & Training

• MD or DO degree

• Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Emergency Medicine residency, minimum three years

Board Certification

• ABEM or ABOEM certified or eligible

Clinical Experience

• Emergency Medicine residency training and/or continuous Emergency Medicine practice experience

Licensure & Credentials

• Active Texas medical license or ability to obtain one

• IMLC pathway accepted

• Active DEA registration

• Controlled Substance Registration, as applicable

• Malpractice history available for review

Cross-Credentialing Requirements

Providers must be willing to complete cross-credentialing across five facilities within the regional health system. This includes hospital-based and freestanding emergency care locations in Brownsville, Harlingen, and Weslaco, Texas.
