UMMC Greenwood Leflore is seeking Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physicians to provide ongoing coverage in Greenwood, Mississippi. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians looking for consistent 12-hour shifts with no call requirement and a minimum commitment of just 5 shifts per month.

Opportunity Highlights

• 12-hour day and night shifts: 6a-6p and 6p-6a

• Minimum 5 shifts/month

• No call

• 24 physician hours/day

• Approximately 17,200 annual ED visits

• Average 47 patients/day

• EM coverage includes 12-hour coverage Mondays and 10-hour coverage Tuesday-Thursday

• Hospital Medicine provides 12-hour coverage daily

Physician Requirements

• MD or DO

• Completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency

• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience

• Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license

• Active Mississippi DEA with required schedules

• Acceptable board certifications:

  • ABEM

  • ABFM

  • ABIM

  • AOBEM

  • AOBFM

  • AOBIM

• ACLS – AHA required

• ATLS required

• PALS required

• BLS required unless EM board certified

• APBS/ABPS not accepted

Credentialing Requirements

Candidates must be prepared to provide a complete credentialing file with no outstanding items, including current CV, medical license, DEA, driver’s license, Social Security card, diploma, residency certificate, board documentation, recent case logs, CME/CEU records, and malpractice coverage history.

Immunization Requirements

• COVID vaccine

• Current flu vaccine

• Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer

• MMR: 2 doses or positive titers

• Tdap within 10 years

• Hepatitis B: 3-dose series + positive titer

• TB testing completed within 0-30 days prior to start
